~A Little Getaway on Mingus Mountain, Arizona~

Friends we met on www.pugslife.org Aronda and Ron came up the mountain to visit us last weekend.  Since the monsoons are in full force, we retreated to the awning when the rains came.  Luckily, we got a little time to enjoy a yummy barbeque and S'mores!  Nothing better than pugs, good friends, and camping!  :0)

~Arizona Centennial Quilt Testers~

The puggies approve of my dad's birthday quilt. I used the Arizona Centennial fabric, it was a dream to piece. Making one for my father-in-law's birthday too, but he doesn't like the puggies. Shhhhh! Don't let him know there'll be puggy bums on his quilt, too! These girls are the official quilt testers! Daisy Doo, the middle one, is the good puggy and she is NOT too patient with my seniors who took forever to pose. I think she was rolling her eyes and saying, "Oh, brother!" It's quite a family affair getting them all in a row for our quilt testing. The one on the left, Buffy Boo, is nearly blind, and Sassy Sue is on the right.  Both of my seniors are going deaf. Jeff and I are definitely the "puggy wranglers" when it comes to quilt photos! :0)

I am NOT getting into that Pee Pee bed!
Sassy had her bladder stone surgery on Thursday and Daisy missed her so much.  As we were told by the vet, Sassy would "leak" a little until her bladder healed.  Well, poor Daisy just hates the smell of other puggies' pee.  There was a minute amount in the bed and she would not get into it, instead she would lean onto the non-pee pee part of the bed!  There's only so much one can do for a sister!   Well, this went on for an hour or so, then.........

Ah, the sacrifices one makes for a sister!  :0)

~The Quilting Crew on Break!~

We were in Phoenix for the Good Sam Rally last week.  Since Jeff had a couple of seminars to attend, and I was getting pretty tired, the pugs, Bentley and I spent the day sewing.  My quilting crew kind of pooped out on me here; the snoring was so loud I couldn't hear the sewing machine!  All in all we had a great time at the rally and I got to do my favorite thing, spend time with the puggies and sew!  :0)

~Happy St. Paddy's Day!~

Buffy O'Boo, Sassy O'Sue, and Daisy O'Doo are here to show you their new St. Paddy's Day lap quilt and wish you a Happy St. Paddy's Day.  I seriously thought of putting little green tams on them, but thought that a wee bit too much....even for me!  :0)

The Cone of Shame!

Poor Polly Anna, she had surgery for eye entropion (inversion of lids).  She had both lower lids lowered as the eyelashes and lids were rubbing on her eyes making them teary and raw.  After years of not dealing with it, she may have had to deal with early blindness, so she decided on the surgery at the ripe old age of 1 1/2.  Emmy Lou (fawn) is her home health care nurse and works tirelessly trying to remove Polly's cone of shame!  Together these two puppies are a delight for my parents and Polly is busy racing around acting like nothing has happened and the cone is just one of her latest outfit!  Blue is definitely her color!  :0)

Happy Birthday Emmy & Polly!

Have you ever noticed how pug people tend to celebrate all holidays and birthdays with their pugs as if they are real human children?  I wonder what it is that makes us do that?  Must be that cute little pug face!  As you can see Emmy Lou and Polly Anna are enjoying their birthday and by the smile on Papa's face, I'd say he was having a we bit of fun, too!  :0)

Camp Fire Girls :0)

We just got back from Page Springs on Oak Creek near Sedona.  Lovely area, so close to the creek, we could hear its relaxing sounds in the RV.  A little chilly at night, but nothing a roaring camp fire can't warm up!  Buffy, our little "Buggy Puggy", is really getting into the swing of RVing.  Sassy and Daisy are old pros.  We were lucky to get a site with electric and I took my travel sewing machine.  Worked on a pug quilt for APARN's Pugstock silent auction during a cloudy day; felt like home!  Next trip is March when we're off to the Good Sam Club Rally in Phoenix, AZ.  :0)
